Opposition parties Of Sikkim welcomed Governor’s advice to the State Govt. on ‘Black Bill’

Governor of Sikkim Balmiki Prasad Singh advised the State Government to withdraw the Prevention and Control of Disturbance of Public Order Bill which was introduced by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling in the Legislative Assembly on 11th August, 2011. All opposition parties welcomed the advice of Governor B.P Singh in a meet held here in the capital today and added that they will not believe in governor’s advice until and unless the bill is withdrawn in the next assembly session.
Speaking to media President of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Sikkim Unit Mr. Padam Chettri informed that Governor’s advice is like a pain killer for opposition parties, people of Sikkim but the opposition parties operating in the state will continue the protest until and unless the bill is withdrawn by the ruling government in the Assembly.
Regarding the bill all opposition parties have decided to distribute the leaflet across the state. Mr. Sharma further more mentioned that the opposition parties will also send a memorandum to the President of India Pratibha Devi Singh Patil and also to Law Minister, Chief Justice of India and Governor Balmiki Prasad Singh on 17th August.
Likewise president of Sikkim National Peoples Party Mr. Biraj Adhikari in his address informed that SNPP will not believe in Governor Balmiki Prasad Singh as the Governor had already informed the opposition parties operating in the state that he is powerless in respect to the passing of the bill in the Assembly.
The bill is totally against the people of Sikkim and Chief Minister Pawan Chamling is trying to play the role of dictator in the state by passing this bill. Whereas the convenor of Sikkim Liberation Party Mr. DN Nepal in his address alleged that Chief Minister Pawan Chamling stating that CM is trying to mislead the Government of India.
Furthermore Mr. General Secretary, Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad Party Mr. Tara Shrestha in his address said that if the Government of India is really honest concerning the people of Sikkim then GOI must order the state government to withdraw the bill.
