BSNL recharge cards available at post offices from 5 Jan

KOLKATA, 22 DEC: As a part of revenue generation programme, the Post department has decided to sell recharge cards for BSNL mobile phones from post offices in the state, Mr BV Sudhakar, Postmaster General (business development), said today.  He was speaking at a Press conference this morning, organised by the department at Yogayog Bhavan.
In the first phase, nine post offices have been selected from where the cards will be sold out. Nine post offices are Ganjajal Ghati post office at Bankura, Saontalpur post office in Cooch Behar, Madarihat and Lataguri post office in Jalpaiguri, Phasdeau post office in Darjeeling, Bogula and Chakdah post office in Nadia and  Bishnupur and Joynagar Mozilpur post office in South 24-Parganas. The cards will be available from 5 January, 2012.
Mr Sudhakur said that the strong network of post offices in the state will help BSNL provide better services to its customers.  He said that in the next six or eight months the India Post will launch “Take Seba” service. Once the service is launched, people will be informed through SMSes about money orders and letters. Senders will have to write the cell phone number of the receiver, along with the postal address, on the envelope. The service has been launched in Andhra Pradesh a few months ago. The India Post department will launch a job web portal in collaboration with the iCode Management Systems Pvt Ltd in the state. The web portal ~ www.icodecity.com will be launched by 5 January. Job seekers will have to pay Rs 300 to purchase an iCode card. Job seekers after purchasing the card will come to know the password and ID to access the web portal.
Companies will be able to search for suitable candidates from the web portal, said Mr BV Sudhakar, adding the cards will be available at 1,117 post offices in the state.
