Darjeeling, Feb. 22.TT: The Gokha Janmukti Morcha said today that a delegation led by party chief Bimal Gurung will meet the Union home minister on February 28 to discuss the delay in the formation of the administrative set-up for the Darjeeling hills.
Gurung will be accompanied by Morcha general secretary Roshan Giri and Kalimpong MLA Harka Bahadur Chhetri when he meets home minister P. Chidambaram in New Delhi.
“The three leaders will definitely take up with the home minister issues like the delay in the the formation of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration,” said a Morcha leader.
Morcha leaders said “it has come to our knowledge” that different central ministries had sent their opinions on the GTA Bill passed by the Assembly to Chidambaram.
“Since the observations have come, there should not be a problem in getting the President’s assent,” said a Morcha leader.
