The foundation for the Tourist Lodge at Relli, Kalimpong was laid by the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Executive Chief, Bimal Gurung today.In his address, Gurung informed that the project is of Rs 7 crores and he assured that total beautification of Relli will be done. In order to increase in the number of tourists in Relli, a water kingdom, mini golf course and tourist cottage will also be constructed, he notified. Along with these, ropeway service from Delo to Relli via Kalimpong town and a lake will also be made, declared Gurung. He also announced that soon a film city will be established at Delo. Stating that the roads give the first impression of a place to the tourists, the GTA Executive Chief directed the Kalimpong Engineering Department to upgrade the status of the Relli road within 2 months. He also stressed on maintaining the cleanliness and security of the tourist spots right before its construction. Lastly, notifying about the forthcoming Krishi Mela which will start from January 05, till January 18, 2013, Gurung said that the mela is being held for the betterment and profit of the farmers.The GTA Chief Secretary, Dr Soumitra Mohan, Kalimpong MLA, Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri, GTA Tourism Department head, Dawa Lepcha, GTA President, Pradeep Pradhan, GTA Information & Culture Department head, Binay Tamang, Municipality President, LB Pariyar, area Sabhasad, RB Bhujel, other Sabhasads under Kalimpong sub division and the Morcha workers were also present.
