The peace march of the Tibetans started off from the Maney Lakha Gumpa today and it will culminate at Salugara. Around 150 Tibetans including women partook in the march. The rally will complete 30 kms today and halt at Rambi overnight and will head towards Salugara early tomorrow.“Today why the UNO is silent, when human rights are being violated by the Chinese in Tibet?” questioned Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) Vice President, Sonam Yugyel Bhutia.Likewise, the Advisor of the RTYC, T Pintso demanded that the Indian Government and the UNO should focus on the Chinese atrocities. Strong actions should be taken against them by the UNO, he added. “People worldwide should stand up against the human rights violation. Tibet’s freedom is India’s security”, he stated.The said march is being organized under the leadership of the RTYC and is being led by the Vice President, Sonam Yugyel Bhutia. The peace march is organized mainly under the auspices of the TYC under the North Eastern Zone. The rally is being supported by the Tibetan Oman Association and other associations, informed the Coordinator of the local Tibetan Community, Chungda Bhutia.It may be noted that since 2009 many Tibetans have self immolated themselves for the sake of their motherland.
