A five member team of the Darjeeling District (Hill) Congress Committee under the leadership of KB Chettri had gone to Delhi and met with the leaders of the centre and the states to find the solution for the issues pertaining to the hills and plain areas. They were also accompanied by a fourteen member team from the Jalpaiguri District Congress Committee. They demanded that a permanent solution should be made for all the issues. They highlighted that there is disturbances in the hills while on the other hand the West Bengal state government has been trying to develop the region. they said that the central government should take a strong step to bring the situation of the hills under control.
