In one such breakthrough success story, an energetic proud daughter of Shri Prem Kumar Chettri and Mother Smt Tshering Choden Bhutia; Juhie Palmu Chettri sets up herself to become the state’s first commercial pilot. She’s presently serving with IndiGo Airline Industry based in Kolkata as a pilot.
Juhie completed her Class XII from Namchi Missionary School in 2008. According to Juhie’s sister who is a SDPO Rangpo Mrs Linda Palmo Chettri, during the year 2008 after she completed Class XII she appeared in a career opportunity program which was floated by state government that year to aspirants which facilitated girl child for pursuing further studies in which the scope of relevant airline training was also included. Being selected for pursuing career prospect, Juhie joined Air Safety Flight Academy in Arizona USA in the same year with logistic support from the State Government.
Juhie being fascinated towards technicalities of aviation during her course period she stood excellent in her flying academic curriculum. After successfully completing her flying training she joined as a Junior Pilot in IndiGo for nearly 2 years after which on 2012 she was lifted to full fledged Pilot in compliance of DGCA.
Speaking to VoiceofSikkim, Mrs Linda narrated her sister’s struggle to become successful each time with all her efforts, in her aim to reach beyond the sky Mrs Linda also told that she’s now pursuing a Graduation from Guwahati University in Civil Aviation in distance course parallel to her duty as Pilot. She further told to VOS that Juhie is also undergoing Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) to up rise her place from Pilot to Commander.
Juhie shares all her credit to the Sikkim Government and the Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling exclusively for what she accomplished today. According to Mrs Linda, her sister Juhie always suggests to the younger generation of state to remain focused on subject , there’re ample of career oriented opportunities which are floated by the government which can become a platform for shaping their career. Mrs Linda said that Juhie’s ultimate goal is to be a ‘Citizen of the World’ for betterment of Society, she would love to cooperate needy aspirants to attain their goal.
