Gangtok : In the successive agitation rising in the state aftermath of SDF CLC NK Gurung murder , the politics of blame throwing surges on air. There has been series of rallies being carried across the state by ruling SDF party alleging hand of SKM in the murder case. Recall on 4 March while returning back home attending 22nd Foundation Day from Jorthang, the SDF CLC member NK Gurung was brutally attacked by ‘Kachet’ (Wooden Plank) by miscreants at Sribadam, having heavily injured in head by the brute attack Gurung passed away on the way to Siliguri.
In the incident two persons were arrested by Kaluk Police Phurba Bhutia and Jigmee Bhutia lately, there was a report of yet another SDF supporter missing in the incident of 4 March Dawcho Bhutia who’s reported to have traced today said source.
The ruling SDF party taking up the matter as henious claimed that the attack was mastermind by SKM Prsident PS Golay took out rallies in different parts of the state in all districts, there was a report of law & order cramming at some places which however was ceased by police influence. In Namchi on 5 March incident about ruckus that few SKM supporter’s houses and business establishment were damaged by agitated SDF supporters during the rally, which however was brought down by police with light lathicharge. In continuation to protest the SDF party cadre called rally in the capital similarly today which was attended by massive census of partymen holding peace message and waving slogans against PS Golay with series of banners on hands. In Namthang today SDf supporters burnt effigy of PS Golay shoting slogans to arrest the mastermind behind Gurung attack and ban the organization which he’s heading to bring a disorder in the peaceful state.
Pouring sympathy for the deceased family and the late NK Gurung, the SKM on the other side woke up slamming the made accusation as mischievous way to defame SKM party and the leader PS Golay bullying murder charges by SDF party. SKM responds in release that Gurung was expelled from SDF party in 2011 for his anti-party activities, calling NK Gurung CLC Vice President by SDF is a blended lie alleges in release of SKM.
After the incident which took place at Sribadam on fateful night there is a report of compromise between deceased and the attackers at Kaluk Police station, after that what took place which led to shocking death of NK Gurung makes the incident more suspicious since intervening portion of events after the incident are missing. SKM in the release has asked for the independent probe in the matter which can bring a truth to all.
