Gorkha janmukti Morcha(GJM) and Bharatiya Janta Party(BJP) holds last public meeting for the upcomming Loksabha Election 2014 here in Darjeeling motor stand, where thousands of supporters were present to support BJP candidate SS Ahluwalia. Top GJM
leaders of Darjeeling and the Gorkha - BJP representatives of northeast states like Assam,Guwahati addressed the public today in Darjeeling, appealed all the Gorkhas of Darjeeling to Vote for SS Ahluwalia.
In the mean time Gorkha janmukti Morcha chief Bimal Gurung writes in his Facebook page as:
" I would like to thank the 30 thousand supporters from Darjeeling
Sub-Division who came our public meeting to show their support for
Gorkhaland.
There won’t be any strikes in the Hills, Terai and
Dooars area for Gorkhaland as the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha will camp in
Delhi and take the agitation for Gorkhaland to the Parliament from there
with the support of the coming BJP Government.
Shri S. S. Ahluwalia gave his commitment that he will take the “dreams of the Gorkhas”, Gorkhaland to the Parliament.
He said that the coming BJP Government would be approving Schedule
Tribe Status for the 10 Gorkha communities of Rai, Yakkha (Dewan),
Gurung, Bhujel, Newar, Jogi, Sunwar Mukhia, Mangar, Khas and Thami. He
will also take the issue of granting Gorkha Certificate to Christians
and the Schedule Caste Community.
Thank you all for your support and we are confident of winning this election but we need to win this election with a huge margin.
