In the foundation stone laying ceremony of 4 projects in Town hall Bimal Gurung assured the people here to expunge the acute problem of water by extracting the aqua from Teesta River, construct an alternative highway, embed 4-5 flyovers in the town and also construct a high-tech hospital soon. The GTA chief laid the foundation stone for the construction of a circular road from 6th Mile to K-town, school building of Kumudini homes, multipurpose auditorium, and Lepcha welfare centre which will be constructed in different places of the hamlet. The circular road will enter to 33 number constituency with the stretch of 7 kilometers and width of 6 meters where the total estimation of 10 crore is sketched, similarly the evaluated model school of Kumudini homes is 5 crore followed by 15.20 crore of the 400 seated Multipurpose auditorium in 35 number Bong Durpin constituency. Addressing the mass present in town hall, the GTA chief said that the happy days of Kalimpong has started, ‘I have laid many foundation stones in Darjeeling, Kurseong and Mirik, now the time has come to develop Kalimpong, many projects are still essential the town’ said the chief. Talking about the cornerstone ceremony of the 400 seated multipurpose auditorium which consists of a Gymnasium, indoor badminton court, exhibition and conference hall, food plaza, acoustic and sound proof hall, firefighting systems, parking facilities for 120 cars, etc, he said, ‘looking at the population of Kalimpong 400 seats are very less, I think it should expand to 1000 seats.’ He repeatedly warns the concerned people that the works should be done appropriately, where he adds that the construction work of Kumudini Homes might reach 10 crore for he will add a rain water harvesting scheme of 25 lack gallons and an indoor sport auditorium. Referring to the narrowing road and congested traffic of Kalimpong he said that a solution of a circular road is made and a good amount of money is given for the project therefore the completion should also be good. Speaking on the same context of town congestion he said that 4-5 flyovers should also be constructed in the town where students can walk which will ease the most crucial problem of the town, ‘I direct the concerned department to see to this and work on it soon’ adds the Chief. Elucidating about Delhi, Gurung later repeats his avowal which he gave in Munsung about the neighboring state, ‘like I mention yesterday about the next-door neighbor, they took our teachers, football players and literatus once when they had less intellectuals, now they kick us off, they selfishly though about themselves and never for Gorkhaland and they will never think either’ said the GTA chief where he adds when R.P Sharma could participate and when Narenda Modi himself directed Ahluwalia to put the matter of Gorkhaland, our own people, our own neighbor sat mum. Before winding up his talks he said, ‘we should now stop giving our daughters to Sikkim for they don’t even get the citizenship there, however we will keep fighting for our separate state and we will also make the future of the coming generation bright’ Besides the foundation stone laying ceremony of 4 projects, one inauguration project, under Dindayal Upadhya Gram Jyoti Yojana in Duka busty which falls under 38 number constituency was successfully inaugurated by the Chief for which 198.4 crore was sanctioned where Duka project took 87 lacks, it was known that 4 transformers of 25 KVA will be installed where the power is now generated to 112 BPL houses with no meter connection with free single wiring.
