Binay slams BJP for fooling Gorkhas on the issue of granting tribal status for 11 communities

Chairman of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Board of Administrators Binoy Tamang
Chairman of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Board of Administrators Binoy Tamang today slammed BJP government at the Centre for fooling Gorkhas on the issue of granting tribal status for 11 communities.
Tamang had called an emergency press conference at Pintail village near Siliguri today.
He said that on January 3 at about 5:15pm he received a mail which was sent to government of Sikkim from Gopal Sadhwani, director of Ministry of Tribal Affairs mentioning about the visit to Gangtok with the committee for granting ST status.
Tamang said, “This email exposes the truth while the minister and the Bimal Gurung camp said that the bill can be brought anytime. The email proves that the committee has not even finished the process of collecting data regarding granting of ST status for 11 Gorkha communities and the bill has a long way to go.”
According to Tamang the committee will be visiting Sikkim from January 7 to 9. He said that it is impossible to place the bill in this winter session of Parliament as the committee needs to submit the report after their visit.
“ S S Ahulawalia,  BJP, Bimal Gurung and his camp  are the biggest traitors of Gorkhas. Leave alone Gorkhaland the BJP led central government hasn’t spoken a single word even after two MPs they couldn’t give ST status to 11 Gorkha communities,'' said Tamang during the press conference.
He also declared that his party will not be supporting BJP or any alliance with any NDA partner  in the upcoming general election. He did not rule out the possibilities of being in alliance with Trinamool Congress as he said, “It has not been decided yet,  let’s see what happens. But before that our demand of providing safety and security of Gorkhas and Tribal status for 11 communities should be fulfilled,'' said Tamang.
He also said that he will be campaigning against BJP in the entire regions of the nation where the Gorkha community resides and will start it from the North East states.(EOIC)
