The occasion was launch of Nokia Lumia smartphones and who better can catch the fancy of youngsters than Dhanush, the man of the moment after a roaring national success with the peppy Tamil song Kolaveri Di.
Dhanush said, “I am open to singing any language song. Kolaveri Di has opened lots of doors for me, so I am deciding which door to choose.”
Speaking on the superhit song he said, “Amitabh ji (Amitabh Bachchan) is the first celebrity to appreciate my song. It is my duty to accept both compliments and criticism.”
Dhanush believes that the success of the song is because of three reasons: English part connected everyone, the humour in the song and the content, which is common with the youngsters.
There was an energetic jamming by Dhanush and emcee of the evening, popular comedy show host Mir, and the latter's band, Bandage, at the concert at City Centre.
There was a packed up audience in the chilly Christmas evening, who cheered and tapped their feet.
A National Award winner, actor Dhanush has acted in 22 films and his upcoming movie is ‘3’, directed by his wife Aishwarya, daughter of southern living legend Rajinikanth.
