Deep Milan Pradhan Mirik, January 24: In his tour to ‘meet old friends’ Chattrey Subba today reached Panighhata in Mirik after Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Kurseong. Subba spend one hour in former GNLF leader Rajen Mukhia’s house. Though Chattrey Subba could not meet his old counterpart as he was out of station, Subba has promised to visit next time. Talking to the Sikkim Mail correspondent at Mirik, Subba said “I don’t have any political motive with my tour, neither with Mukhia. I just wanted to see him”. Mukhia who was the counterpart of Subba left GNLF in 2007 and had joined the then established ABGL. “I will come next time to meet my friend (Mukhia)” said Subba and headed toward Dooars.Subba is known to have a decent following in the hills, especially in the Kalimpong sub-division, and is seen as someone who could trouble the Morcha if he decides to take Gurung’s party head on.
