Open challenge to GTA by GTF

The Gorkhaland Task Force (GTF) has openly challenged the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA). “If GTA has fortitude then they should pass a memorandum in favour of Gorkhaland and send it to the government”, is what the GTF had to state.It may be mentioned that the GTA Executive Chief, Bimal Gurung during his Kalimpong tour criticizing the opposition leaders had labeled them as ‘winter politicians’.The GTF National Convener, R Moktan speaking with the media after their meeting today, denounced Gurung’s criticisms. “If we are winter politicians, then they are full time politicians. Thus, they should now be able to pass the Gorkhaland memorandum. Only after this we will believe in them”, he said.Today’s meet was mainly held to discuss about the National Conference to be held at Siliguri on December 19. The present political scenario of the hills, Panchayat poll, plans and policies of the GTF, etc. are the few topics which will be discussed during the same. Through this meeting, the GTF mainly aims to acquaint the national level representatives of the Gorkhas and other communities about the demand for a separate state, Gorkhaland.The Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh (BGP) will also be holding its National Convention on December 17 and 18. During this the national working committee will be formed.The Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxist (CPRM) Central Vice President, JB Rai, Gorkha Rashtriya Nirman Morcha (GRNM) President, Dawa Pakhrin, Dr Enos Das Pradhan from BGP and others were present during the meet.
