A CRM X-Ray machine worth Rs 10 Lakhs has been brought at the Kalimpong Sub Divisional Hospital. The machine being provided by the government will soon start functioning with the help of the concerned specialists after being installed. The hospital SDMO, Dr Sonam Tshering Bhutia speaking to the reporters informed that the machine can be utilized for doing X-Ray during any kind of bone operation. The X-Ray reports are out immediately which helps a lot in the operation. Apart from this machine, another very modern machine used to check the new born babies have also been brought in the hospital. It now awaits to be installed. The hospital is in contact with the Power Department as the installations of these two machines require much energy.After the new government has been formed in the state, the government hospitals are being modernized. For the same a meeting of the Health Department was held at Kolkata last week where the Kalimpong Hospital SDMO had also partaken. During the meeting it was decided that the government hospitals will be facilitated with CT scan, MRI and digital X-Ray machines along with other modern technologies. The heads of the hospitals have been directed to prepare reports which have to be forwarded to Kolkata. The SDMO said that on behalf of the Kalimpong Hospital, he will be forwarding a demand proposal soon. Also on the other hand a report on how much electricity will be consumed or needed, for the machines will also be prepared.
