Tug of war  GJM vs TMC
In one hand the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is striving its way towards weakening the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) in the hills, while in the other, the GJM is working towards strengthening itself. 

Under the same 50 TMC supporters from 42 number Relli Samthar and 37 number Algarah joined the Morcha today. They all met with the GJM president at the Morcha party office in Darjeeling. Among the newly joined members, the TMC candidate for the GTA elections, Sukh Bahadur Subba was also present. Their joining was heartily welcomed by the GJM by the Morcha sub divisional committee. Sukh Bahadur Subba and Kamla Khawas received the GJM party flags on behalf of the other new supporters from the hands of Norden Lama, the GJM coordinator. The area sabhasad, Kalpana Tamang, Sunil Pradhan, Municipality councilor, members of the GJM central and sub divisional committees were present during the occasion.Addressing the media after the joining the former TMC leader, Sukh Bahadur Subba said that throughout the year he supported TMC. However, in the process he realized the TMC’s policies which according to him did not match his thought process as the policies does not reach the rural populace. He also informed that he had earlier served the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), worked with Subash Ghising during the 1986 agitation, worked with United Gorkha Revolutionary Front’s (UGRF) Ajay Dahal, went to jail and still has 2 legal cases charged against him by the GJM president.Subba standing his grounds said that he has always longed for Gorkhaland and the GJM chief has assured them that he (Bimal Gurung) has not sidelined the Gorkhaland demand.
