The
state government is trying to avert from acknowledging the basics
problems plaguing the Darjeeling hills and is plotting to ignite a
conflict between the Gorkhas and Lepchas, according to veteran CPM
leader Ashok Bhattacharya. He said so today at a press conference held
at the CPM party office, Anil Biswas Bhawan, at Hill Cart Road.
He added, “The government and GJM should come forward in order to resolve the crisis. If necessary, a tripartite meeting must be organised. Intimidation is not the correct way to handle the situation and the state government must acknowledge the basic problems of the people of the hills.”(EOI)
