Gangtok, Sunday,August 11, 2013: Over 300 students from Schools, Colleges, Universities under Kalimpong sub-division reached Gangtok on foot and met Sikkim's Chief Minister Pawan kr. Chamling today to seek support for the ongoing Gorkhaland movement in Darjeeling Hills.
2.Sikkim Government has already passed Gorkhaland Resolution in the State Assembly in support of the demand of the Darjeeling people for statehood.
3. 31A National Highway, the only communication link for the people of Sikkim with the rest of the Country is requested to be kept outside the purview of the bandh.
4. Brotherhood and mutual respect that is the hallmark of Sikkim-Darjeeling relationship must continue.We extend our Best of Wishes to the people of Darjeeling in this movement for statehood.
Chief Minister Pawan Chamling opinion Over Gorkhaland:
