Vain of Descends - Gorkha band to perform in Bangladesh music fest ‘Terror Fest Vol-1’

Mirik has been gaining a reputation over the last few months as the new hub for breaking artists. Whether its 16yr old Apurbha Tamang coming up with a Nepal quake tribute song, or Arpan Rai holding the title of ‘Darjeeling’s first male belly dancer’. Formed on December 8 last year, black metal band ‘Vain of Descends’ adds to the growing list of talents from the sleepy town under Kurseong sub-division.
The band comprising of vocalist/percussionist Samarpan Rai, lead guitarist Abhilash Chettri, bassist Alex Karki, drummer Aditya Pradhan, and Calvin Lepcha on keyboard are all set to perform in Bangladesh at the music fest ‘Terror Fest Vol-1’ in association with Parbon Events powered by Pedal House, making them the first Gorkha band to perform in the neighboring country.
The musical event slated to begin on  July 31 will be held in the Shilpokola Academy Auditorium, at Sylhet, Dhaka.
Representing India in the fest, the Mirikian metal band will share the stage with 14 other Bangladeshi bands such as Thrash,Homicide, Warhouse, and Metropolis.(EOIC)
